Self-Massage

Ayurveda teaches us how to put our health in our own hands—literally. Self-massage is an act of love; it uses dosha-specific methods and herb-infused oils to detoxify, nourish, and strengthen the mind-body.

Depending on your dosha, stage of life, and the season, various forms of self-massage can benefit you. As a part of the Purpose & Performance program, you’ll learn which (if any) technique is right for you and how to perform it.

Abhyanga (Full Body)

Abhyanga is a head-to-toe self-massage that harmonizes the mind-body through its specific technique and nourishment of herb-infused oils. It’s a luxurious experience that offers us practical care. Some of the benefits include:

  • Removing toxins

  • Improving circulation

  • Softening the skin

  • Strengthening the body

  • Calming the nervous system

Karna Purana (Ear Oiling)

Our outward experience of life is determined by the health of our five senses. Karana Purana balances and restores the ears to help alleviate the following imbalances:

  • Ringing of the ears

  • Headaches

  • Excess ear wax

  • Loss of hearing

  • Lockjaw

  • Stiff neck

Nasya (Nose Oiling)

The nose is a direct portal to the brain; it’s an entrance that gives us life through prana (breath). Therefore, when we perform Nasya, we relieve and restore the mind-body in numerous ways:

  • Relieve stress and anxiety

  • Reduce tension

  • Enhance mental clarity

  • Clear the sinuses

  • Improve voice and vision

Kavala Graha (Oil Pulling)

The benefits of swishing herb-infused oil in the mouth surpass the simplicity of its technique. Some of its advantages include:

  • Removing toxins

  • Strengthening teeth, gums, and jaw

  • Reducing wrinkles around the cheeks

  • Promoting mental clarity
